HI, I’M DIEGO GONZALEZ

I am a graduate student at Sacramento State University, in the Department of Communication, with a bachelor’s degree from UC Davis. I am passionate about social media, content creation, graphic design, and writing.

I discovered my passion for communication through a class called Communication Campaigns. In this assignment, my group and I partnered with UC Davis’s Native American Academic Student Success Center (NAASSC) with the set goal of creating tailored content for them in order to increase their follower count and overall engagement. This course taught me the importance of strategic messaging to the correct target audience in order to persuade them of your campaign goals.

My other great passion in life is videography. In my personal time, I’ve helped create advertisements for guitar instructor Demetrius Besougloff, wedding videography, and community projects. In the Winter of 2022, I also received an award from the Global Film Festival Awards – Los Angeles for “Best Editing” for my involvement in the short film “The Red Phone”, a film following a man going through the process of grief directly following his girlfriend’s funeral. More recently, in the Summer of 2025, I acted in the award-winning short film from the Sacramento International Film Festival, “CopyCat.”
